Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb (450g) Ground Turkey 93% lean preferred
  • 8 oz (225g) Cremini Mushrooms Sliced
  • 5 oz (142g) Fresh Baby Spinach
  • 4 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) Avocado Oil Divided
  • 1/2 tsp (2.5g) Cracked Black Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp (3g) Sea Salt

Equipment

  • 1 Cast Iron Skillet Ensures best browning
  • 1 Wooden spoon For breaking up turkey

Method

Cooking Process
  1. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add turkey and sear undisturbed for 4 minutes to create a crust. Break into crumbles, cook until browned, then remove from pan.
  2. Add remaining oil and mushrooms to the skillet. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the edges are golden brown and caramelized.
  3. Reduce heat to medium. Add minced garlic and cracked black pepper, sautéing for 60 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Return turkey to the pan. Add spinach in batches, tossing until just wilted and coated in pan juices. Serve immediately.

Notes

Wipe mushrooms with a towel instead of washing to ensure they brown properly.
Use a dark cast iron skillet for the best sear and texture.
