Ingredients

Main Components
  • 1 lb Chicken Breast Cut into 1-inch chunks
  • 10 oz Dried Wheat Noodles Long and thin
  • 1 tbsp Vegetable Oil For searing
Sticky Garlic Sauce
  • 10 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 1/2 cup Soy Sauce Naturally brewed
  • 1/4 cup Light Brown Sugar Packed
  • 1 tbsp Toasted Sesame Oil
  • 2 tsp Fresh Ginger Grated
Garnishes
  • 3 whole Green Scallions Thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp Toasted White Sesame Seeds

Equipment

  • 1 Large Skillet or Wok Used for searing chicken and tossing noodles.
  • 1 Large pot For boiling the wheat noodles.

Method

Prep and Boil
  1. Boil wheat noodles in salted water for 1 minute less than package directions. Drain and set aside.
Sear and Sauté
  1. Heat oil in a skillet. Add chicken chunks and cook undisturbed until visible sear marks and caramelized edges appear.
  2. Add minced garlic and ginger. Sauté until garlic turns into golden caramelized bits.
The Glaze
  1. Add soy sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil. Simmer until the sauce becomes a thick, glistening dark amber glaze.
  2. Add noodles and toss vigorously until every strand is coated in the viscous, tacky sauce. Garnish with scallions and sesame seeds.

Notes

Use fresh ginger for a much cleaner, sharper flavor profile.
Don't overcook the noodles in the water, as they will finish cooking in the sticky sauce.
