Preparation
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place butter in a white fluted ceramic ramekin and melt in the oven until bubbling.
- Whisk flour, sugar, and baking powder. Add milk and vanilla, whisking until just combined into a smooth batter.
Assembly & Baking
- Pour the batter into the center of the melted butter. Do not stir. Let the butter rise around the edges.
- Place seven circular banana slices in a ring on top of the batter in each ramekin.
- Bake for 45 minutes until the batter is golden-brown and pulled away from the edges to form caramelized crusts.
- Cool for 5 minutes, then apply a fine dusting of white powdered sugar before serving.
