Prep and Mix
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5 inch metal loaf pan and line with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk melted butter and sugar for 2 minutes until well combined.
- Add eggs and vanilla. Whisk vigorously for 3 minutes until the batter is pale and thick to ensure a crackled top.
- Gently fold in sifted cocoa powder, flour, and salt until just combined. Do not overmix.
Assembly and Baking
- Spread half the batter into the pan. Drop spoonfuls of hot fudge over the batter and swirl gently with a knife. Top with remaining batter.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes until the top is crackled and a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
- Cool completely in the pan for at least 2 hours before slicing to allow the fudge ribbons to set.
