  • 1 cup Warm water 240ml, 105-115°F
  • 2 teaspoons Instant yeast 7g
  • 1/4 cup Greek yogurt 60g
  • 1 tablespoon Honey or sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Sea salt 6g
  • 3 tablespoons Ghee Melted, for brushing
  • 4 cloves Garlic Minced and toasted
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh cilantro Finely chopped

Equipment

  • 1 Cast Iron Skillet Essential for high heat and charring.
  • 1 Rolling Pin

Method

Prepare the Dough
  1. Combine warm water, honey, and yeast in a bowl. Let sit for 10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Stir in yogurt, salt, and flour gradually. Knead on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  3. Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for 60 minutes.
Shape and Cook
  1. Punch down dough and divide into 8 pieces. Roll each into a 1/4-inch thick oval.
  2. Heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high. Cook each naan for 1 minute per side until charred bubbles form.
  3. Brush with melted ghee and sprinkle with toasted garlic and cilantro while hot.

Notes

Use a very hot skillet to ensure the dough puffs quickly.
Keep finished naan covered with a towel to maintain softness.
