- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef, breaking it into small crumbles. Cook until thoroughly browned and caramelized.
- Stir in the tomato sauce. Simmer for 5-7 minutes until the mixture is thick and a deep reddish-brown color.
- Fold the cooked rice into the beef mixture until evenly coated. Transfer to a white ceramic baking dish.
- Layer the sharp orange cheddar cheese on top. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes until the cheese is bubbling with toasted golden-brown spots.
