  • 1 loaf French Baguette Approx 12-14 inches
  • 2 tbsp Salted Butter Melted (30g)
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 cup Tomato Sauce Thick marinara (240ml)
  • 2 cups Mozzarella Cheese Freshly grated (225g)
  • 4 oz Pepperoni Slices Thin-cut for curling (115g)
  • 1 tsp Dried Oregano Flakes
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper Cracked

Equipment

  • 1 Baking Sheet Large enough for a full baguette
  • 1 Parchment Paper White parchment preferred
  • 1 Pastry Brush For the garlic butter

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Slice the baguette in half lengthwise and place on parchment-lined baking sheet.
  2. Mix melted butter and garlic powder. Brush onto the bread. Bake for 5 minutes until lightly golden.
Assembly
  1. Spread a thick layer of tomato sauce over the toasted bread. Cover with a generous layer of mozzarella cheese.
  2. Add thin pepperoni slices. Bake for 10-12 minutes until cheese is bubbly and pepperoni edges curl.
  3. Broil for 60 seconds for golden spots. Remove and garnish with dried oregano and cracked black pepper.

Notes

To prevent sogginess, always pre-toast the bread with butter before adding sauce.
Use a high rack in the oven for the best pepperoni curl.
